United greeting!

In the middle of the presidential candidates offering their sweet promises around the country, we were once again shocked by the the tragedy, the civil shooting by the police officer. The shooting incident that happened at Penyang village, Telawang sub-district, East Kotawaringin district on June 10th, 2014 even more proved that fascism has been the character of this country. The use of brutal action (shooting, beating, forced dismissal, criminalization) were the options that government used to answer the demand for the democratic rights of their peoples that has been grabbed by the imperialist and the landlord in several places. The civil shooting at Penyang village by police officer of Kotim police resort was the continuation of the land dispute between. The community people around the plantation and OR. Agro Bukit (Agro Indomas Group) since 2003. The strength of the alignment between the government (from the district to the center) and the foreign investors was proven by the fact that the government still let the plantation operated on the land about 13.930 ha eventhough it left a lots of question with the community nearby, it had been create couples of way,  people struggle that wanted their land back. The massive harvesting of the palm at the land dispute is one form of the people's resistance on the government's slow bureaucracy  in handling land dispute case that happened in many places in central Kalimantan.

The deployment or the additional of the security forces is the answer that given by the plantations owner to keep their assets from the people's resistance threats. This is the trigger of increased the numbers of violence and casualties. Aja Siswanto (25 years old) is one of the victim out of umpteen peoples who felt the police officer's bullet that was deployed for the sake of infestation.

The shooting of the Penyang village citizen happened two days before the arrival of the Indonesian head police general Sutarman to central Kalimantan on Thursday, June 12th, 2014, in order to gives the direction to anticipated the social conflict, to check on the security readiness for the presidential election and to ensure the neutrality of the Indonesian police. The shooting incident of the Penyang village citizen by the police officer had been added to record of poor performance of Indonesian police in handling social conflict. Whatever reason it is, the used of brutal action by security forces is so not justified to handle the land dispute that happened. The used of brutal action by the security forces are the prove of the officers arrogant that showed their alignment to the capitalist instead of their citizens who had been pay their salary, bought the weapons and the bullets from the paid taxes.

According to the shooting incident happened in the Penyang village, Telawang sub-district, East Kotawaringin district, we are from the  joint secretariat (Sekber) complaint and handling the natural resources conflicts central Kalimantan expressed our attitudes:

1. Strongly condemned of the civil shooting of Aja Siswanto (25 years old) by police officer of East Kotawaringin police resort that included in the accusation of  human right violation.
2. Investigate thoroughly the shooting case happened in the PT. Agro Bukit at Penyang village, act firmly against the perpetrators and do recovery towards the victim and their families;
3. Looking at the case that happened, retreat all the security forces (army and police officers) who placed in each and every plantation and mining in,central Kalimantan.
4. Revoke the palm plantation permit belonged to the PT. Agro Bukit (Agro Indomas Group/ Goodhope Plantation) that are problematic;
5. Stop the land grabbing, and return the community's land. 

Thus the pers release and the statement we made to be distributed to the various parties who supported people's struggle in order to get  back their lands and their democratic rights that had been seized. Thank you for your attention and your cooperation.
